Asidescapes
asidescape: (noun) a portmanteau word that combines incidental poetic prose and an abstract)ed) visual representation to conjure further meaning and moods.
Asidescapes is a joint brother and sister project, Utilizing our contrasting but complimentary talents of writing and painting, we got together to publish our first book Chambers in 2010. But then a concept began to form around a more multi-media form of expression. We did not want our work to be confined to text and visualization so we decided to expand further by using music and sound to help enhance the mood and atmosphere of each piece. So we added soundscaping effects to the background readings to help to enhance and contextualize the atmosphere of each Aside still further, while each Scape also subtly changes its emphasis through shifts in shading and colourization. This artwork is available on DVD where we hope you will find throughout the course of the twelve chambers, a rich entrancing world - sometimes dark, sometimes light - both pleasurable and intriguing.
CHAMBERS
The twelve pieces of work that make up Chambers are presented to be viewed and read in unity. Themes weave throughout the twelve pieces and each seperate Chamber has both it visual and worded representation. Chambers can be found in many places: the mind, the heart, in rooms. They can be a meeting place, a reception room, an enclosed space or compartment, archaically, a bedroom: a place to make love in, to give birth in and to die in.
